Fascias and Soffits

Fascias

This is the projection at the edge of a roof which helps to keep water from spilling onto the sides during rainstorms. They are typically made of wood or aluminium depending on what your house was built with but they can also be made out of steel in some cases. Fascia boards are installed to the front and around the side of the roof to protect it from water damage. They can also be made out of steel in some cases.

Things we consider during fascia installation:

• type of roofing
• available space
• whether we need to make any adjustments for water drainage or ventilation.
• fascia board installation, which can include cutting strips from a plank and nailing them on in an overlapping pattern (you may also have metal clips – these do not require nails)
• back flashing is installed at the bottom of the fascia boards, and includes a rubber sealant

The fascia is installed first and then the boards are nailed to it. The roofing material can be plywood, vinyl, or aluminum – whatever you prefer! Fascia boards come in many shapes: they can be curved on one long side while being straight on the other side.

Soffits

The soffits are what we install to catch any water that is dripping off your roof. In order for the soffits to be effective, they need a rubber sealant. The material of choice can either be aluminum or vinyl depending on what you would prefer – and it’s easy enough to change them out in the future if needed!

In installation of soffits, some considerations we make are

• pitch of your roof (measured by a number followed by “degrees”) – the higher degrees it has, the more steep the roof will be, the more steep your roof, the smaller soffits need to be.
• how many stories you have on your home or building
• the size of room where we will be installing – when it comes to room size and stories on your home or building, we make adjustments for where there is not enough space to fit a taller piece of material.

Roof Flashings

Roof flashings are the metal strips that are fitted to roof joints in order to provide a watertight seal. You can find one on any type of roof, and when they’re properly installed it’s virtually impossible for water to get into your home. But if you don’t install them correctly or have ones that are old and rusty, this is an area where leaks start happening – so make sure you know how flashings work before tackling a new installation!

Roof Coating Materials

Roof coating materials may include, but is not limited to, asphalt and acrylic sealants. Gutter guards can be installed around all four sides of a building’s perimeter in order to stop water from accumulating at any one location on the slanted surfaces. They also reduce wind-driven rain splashback that will lead to ice dams forming under shingles which causes problems like dripping ceilings inside your home and rot in wooden eaves as well as leaks in your plumbing when it freezes outside during wintertime months

Roof Windows

Roof windows are a type of roofing that is becoming more and more popular – especially in the older homes where people might not be ready to go with an overhaul. Roof windows work by installing them on top of your existing roof, so they’re low maintenance (read: no need to worry about replacement) and can provide light into any room below them. They do require ventilation for air flow, but if you put one in the bedroom or living area it won’t take up much space at all!

Eaves

The eaves of a gable-style house is where water will drip down from during rainstorms, this area can be very vulnerable to damage so it’s important for homeowners to get their roofs inspected regularly and replaced as needed.

Shingles

Shingles are the most basic part of a roof, and there’s a wide variety to choose from when it comes time for replacements. The type you need will depend on factors like climate and price. For example, wooden shingles offer ventilation as well as insulation but can be costly; metal roofs may seem cheaper at first but they take longer to install than their counterparts. When in doubt about what type of shingle or other material is best suited to your home, consult an expert!

Roof Cap

Ridge cap. The ridge cap has to be installed in a specific way so that it’s not visible from outside, and there are many different types which you can customize your home with depending on what suits your needs best – for instance, if you want an aesthetic appeal then plastic caps will work well as they’re lightweight and easy to install, but metal ones might suit better for those looking for additional protection against water damage or fire. There is also something called a hip-top roof which is mostly used when constructing new buildings because it’s easier to build one large structure without any seams; however this type comes at the expense of lower insulation levels. A popular choice among homeowners is the mansard style roof (which may include dormers for additional living space), which is a very decorative option with slanted sides and often used in French architecture.
